Rong’s work explores the subtle details often overlooked within social and class structures. Utilizing film photography—both 35mm and large-format black and white cameras—Rong engages in a process of discovery, unveiling the unknown intricacies captured on film. During her years studying photography in the United States, she has also investigated the role of the outsider and the feasibility of societal inclusivity. From an artistic standpoint, Rong observes the hidden facets of a so-called "perfectly industrialized" society, bringing to light the nuances that lie beneath its polished exterior.

THE DREAM

As an art student in Boston, my photography explores the complexities of the American Dream through themes of immigration and class perception.

100%

By disrupting perceptions of glass, stainless steel, and gallery settings, I reveal hidden beauty in the interplay between precision and imperfection, challenging viewers to find the extraordinary in the ordinary.

SUMMER BLOOSOM

Through my lens, I capture the dynamic pulse of life, the journey of development, fresh perspectives, and the undying spirit of hope, celebrating the vibrancy and resilience of our existence.

DUST

My work reveals dust and societal fractures using large format black and white film. Each darkroom-developed photo captures unnoticed moments and subtle details, uncovering beauty in the overlooked and broken, challenging perceptions of reality.
